Tokidoki Screensaver and Pixel Graphics

Combine Tokidoki with Hello Kitty and you get ultra cute items. I noticed a new line with Hello Kitty riding on a unicorn, or unicono as Simon Legno would call it. Somehow it reminds me of the 80’s, which is a good thing -I’m sentimental.
On Tokidoki’s website I was pleasantly surprised by a Screensaver! The screensaver will update frequently with new themes, so you’ve always got something nice to look at.

Today I received a sweet e-mail from Michelle, telling me that one of my pixel graphics has been used on Glitter Graphics. Apparently people kids upload loads of pixels that they haven’t created themselves.Visitors can grab the images and will leave comments like “cute” or “awesome” or other profound meanings…

This wouldn’t bother that much if at least they had the dignity to leave my url inside the image intact. Have a look at the site, and especially this section. If you create pixel graphics they might have been used as well - in fact I would be surprised if it isn’t there Shock Oh, you can send your reports of alleged copyright violations here!

Monthly spotlight: Mofy

Innocent Mofy

Innocent Mofy

Yep, that’s right I’m changing the spotlight to monthly. At least I know I can stick to that Wink

So this month’s attention goes out to Mofy. Mofy is the cutest white bunny created by Aki Kondo. She’s also responsible for Rillakuma, the lazy bear from San-X. If you’re on Aki Kondo’s website make sure to have a look at her illustrations - navigate with the menu on the left. She creates nice whimsical, retro themed girls and animals.

Mofy is the star of the month since A. he’s a bunny -one of the cutest animals IMHO B. he lives in a cotton ball and is therefore eco friendly and C. Mofy makes great merchandising. Now if you would like this bunny and his friends to cheer up your desktop click here. If you want him to guard your keys, you might like to visit Strapya. Personally I prefer the tea cup with donut version since it matches my Blog theme Wink

Sad Queen’s Day

Half Mast

Half Mast

Before I start this story you should know that I’m not very fond of Queen’s Day. Somehow a mass of -mostly drunk- people dressed in orange doesn’t attract me at all Wink So these last few years we usually go for a nice walk, which is also a great excuse to take pictures.

I started the day behind my computer, to read up on SLR camera’s Grin. But at the beginning of the afternoon my hubby noticed on Twitter that there had been a car accident in Apeldoorn. It didn’t sound that alarming, until we saw the actual images on the news.

The crowd was lined up 4 rows deep to see the royal family passing by in a tour car. Suddenly people flew through the air after a car swerved across police railings. Not much later the car crashed into a stone monument. You can see the videos on Youtube, they’re a bit shocking though: video 1 and video 2.
Judging by the distance and speed of the car, the driver intended to ram the tour car carrying Queen Beatrix. Also the driver of the Suzuki told the police men who arrived first at scene that this wasn’t an accident.

By now we know a bit more about the man. He’s 38 years old and had lived in Apeldoorn previously. According to neighbours he was friendly but pretty much to himself. Also we learned from his landlord, that he planned on leaving his appartement tomorrow (in fact it was already rented to someone else). I hope they’ll find more clues. Because frankly I don’t think he’ll live to tell his reasons, since he’s badly injured.

Sadly 5 people have died so far and 12 are injured Sad. I wonder what this day will look like in the future…
