First of all thank you for your big response to the giveaway! Feel free to still leave a comment there, I will draw a winner tomorrow.

Some days just work out differently than you could imagine. And as long as I don’t have a migraine attack or major deadline, that’s okay with me.

First of all my hubby had to go see his uncle who lives in another part of the Netherlands. And even though the Netherlands is relatively small, it ate away his whole afternoon. So I was sitting at home alone when Kuchi -our cat- came to take over my desk so I would let him sit on my lap. Which, believe me, is not the best postion to work in. Especially since he grew up to be HUGE. Not long afterwards the window-cleaner showed up. He and his colleague stared at the glass back doors wondering how it could become this dirty. I had to smile inside, cause little did they know. Kuchi has taught himself to “knock” on the door with his dirty paws when he’s outside. He still doesn’t know how to miaow properly and this is his ticket back in.

Later that day my brother in law decided to join us for dinner. So whe went to our local Sushi take-away and had a nice meal, while watching a documentary about time. I still don’t understand exactly what the theory of relativity is about, but now I do know how an atomic clock works. Just Google it, you don’t want me to explain it to you… Wink

Now on to the most interesting part, we always “force” visitors to play Buzz -a Playstation quiz game- with us. And I won the second time, joy! I also won Abba Singstar, which is nice because I can’t stand losing Singstar, sad isn’t it?

Dear readers

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments In Love ! It really brought tears to my eyes, but I get emotional quickly. Must be the female hormones. I don’t know about you, but the sight of baby animals or a sad storyline can leave me all teary-eyed. When I was younger I couldn’t understand why woman would cry over that, but nowadays I know it’s not under control Wink

Lady commented on the neighbour story. I’m sorry to hear that there’s a car lot next to you now :(. I know there are guidelines concerning noise that you neighbours, even a business, have to stick to.
But luckily *thanks the universe after all* there will be an employement agency for 40+ aged people. Maybe they can help me by that time Razz

I’m always joking a bit about the whole Secret movement, because it’s over the top. I don’t believe that someone who’s ill can just throw their medicines away as long as they have positive thoughts. It just doesn’t work that way. But the law of attraction thing isn’t new to me. I think that’s just a matter of thinking about something and someone will somehow pick it up.

Neighbour concern

Before we moved in here last year one of the first things we checked was the neighbourhood. In the Netherlands they like to pack all houses together in one area instead of spreading them, so getting to know your beighbours is an important factor in buying a home. The most common threat seemed to be a bar just around the corner. According to our building contractor this place would be filled with evil-doers, not to mention the noise… Neutral
So we decided to drive over one night and counted exactly… 1 person at the bar. Phew, everything seemed allright there. Later whe learned that the bar had switched owners a while ago and everything had gone smoothly from then on.

Next point of inspection; what are the neighbours like? Let’s see, at one side there lived a student upstairs who was pretty much to himself if he was even present at all. The neighbour on our other side seemed to be a cheerful man that wasn’t much around either, sometimes he visits us for a chat and a beer.
Last but not least we’ve got an older neighbour who, probably due to her age, talks very loudly and watches over the neighbourhood. She also couldn’t help but mention that she didn’t like what we did to the house Shock namely replacing the old windows with newer isolated ones. It took me a while to like her again after that remark, but she’s actually quite funny ^_^

So far so good you might think. Well, asides from big trucks riding accross our streets around times when normal people sleep, it was. Untill last month, when they started rebuilding the house next to ours. The student moved out and a family moved in. These are the kind of parents that like to talk to their kid in a loud voice when they are outside. Unfortunately they will do so at a time where I’d still like to sleep. Since we are both freelancers and “nightowls” we’d like to go to bed past midnight. And now we get rudly awaken by the sound of voices, I can even recite what they are saying. Okay, okay, nothing a pair of earplugs (which we will be getting today) and going to bed a bit earlier can’t fix. Last night I even had a dream/nightmare about two families living next to us and they where outside all the time Vomit

Than there’s the first floor that still needs to be rented. It’s supposed to be an office but the owner already suggested that it could be used as a workshop for carpenters and such. Today we noticed the first interested people. And as much as I don’t like to judge a book by it’s cover, these people dind’t exactly look like they will be quiet office clerks. Oh my, I so hope it won’t get even more noisy in the house next to us. Especially since we work from home. I’m having a hard time concentrating on my work these last couple of weeks because of the rebuildment. Let alone if the noise would continue afterwards. Okay, think “The Secret” here… Please send a nice GRAPHICAL DESIGN DUO or STUDIO next to us. Thank you universe Grin
